Professor addressing a group of students in a business class. The Stillman School of Business placed in the top "10 Undergraduate Business Schools to Watch" according to the 2019 Poets & Quants rankings. The business school was distinguished in part for "placing student experience at the forefront" and "understanding that culture is the foundation of successful learning."

Poets & Quants provided several reasons for placing Stillman on the top 10 list. In 2018, they noted, the School placed third in the nation for alumni satisfaction, less than a fraction of a point behind frontrunner, Notre Dame.

In fact, according to P&Q, "The business school ranked in the Top 5 in eight categories," with first and second place finishes in several metrics, including "Preparation for Work World," "Extracurricular Opportunities to Improve Skills," "Classroom Opportunities to Improve Skills," "Faculty Availability for Mentoring," "Help with Networking" and "Life Changing Experience."

The School also ranked #3 in the nation for "Value of Degree in Achieving Dreams."

Poets and Quants also noted that an astounding 100 percent of Stillman alumni agreed that they had "key signature experience" as an undergraduate student. Additionally, the business school was noted for having jumped 22 spots in the best undergraduate school rankings, finishing #45 overall.

Also noted in the Poets and Quants ranking is one of the hallmarks of Seton Hall's business education: its emphasis on leadership development. The Gerald P. Buccino '63 Center for Leadership Development was highlighted for its ability to help its students become aware of their strengths and weaknesses and its focus on principled leadership. The Poets and Quants ranking also noted that "such programming has also made a Stillman Leadership certificate one of the top undergraduate degrees in the field according to HR.com."

The program has ranked as the #1 Certificate Program with Emphasis on Leadership/Organizational Development in the nation by HR.com for four consecutive years.

"Stillman's focus on an ethics-centered education and experiential learning has equipped its graduates with the tools necessary to be successful in the business world," said Dean Joyce Strawser. "Our commitment to maintaining a close-knit community, in which faculty, staff and administrators are thoroughly invested in the success of our students, drives strong student outcomes. Inclusion on this list is further evidence of the hard work and dedication of the entire Stillman community. We are proud to have received this recognition."

The Stillman School of Business is in very good company. Other schools on the Top 10 list are Babson, Boston College, Emory, University of California – Berkley, University of Michigan, University of Utah, University of Virginia, Villanova and William and Mary.
