The Masters of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology prepares professionals with opportunities to further their skills and education in the applications of emerging technology for teaching, learning, coaching and designing. Seton Hall’s IDAT program was designed by K-12 and higher education educators and technology professionals; it goes beyond theory as students develop skills in collaboration, written and visual communication, technology-enabled media literacy, research, critical and creative thinking, all used to help you discover new ways to inspire and create engaging learning environments. The program offers courses online, face-to-face, and in a blended format.
The program is 36 credits that uniquely combines technology expertise with other educational specialties to bring together the most current digital age learning curriculum, tools and strategies. The M.A., IDAT is available with the following concentrations:
- Instructional Design and Technology
- School Library Media Specialist Concentration with State Certification
- Supervisor's Certification Concentration with a New Jersey State Certificate
- Transition Studies Concentration with a Seton Hall Certificate
The faculty in the College of Education and Human Services are expert researchers and practitioners in teacher and leader preparation as well as professional psychology and family therapy. Many are actively engaged with schools and community agencies, modeling best practices to their students in the university classroom and in the field. Collaboration within departments and across is encouraged with the recognition that supporting and improving the lives of children, families and communities is a complex process.
